Inspecting a buildingEco Evaluator provides the know-how to identify needless losses of energy and other resources. Your building is made up of multiple systems. Since these systems interact, when one system is not working properly, it will affect the others. A thorough evaluation will usually identify a multitude of optimization opportunities. It is important to note that Eco Evaluator is a certified third-party verifier of the state of California. We have no interest or gain in creating subjective findings. Our service provides an unbiased review of building performance and efficiency. We create strategic action plans for our clients that provide real cost savings.

All of our evaluations entail an on-site inspection to address potential areas of improvement. Some issues may be an easy fix. Others may require the help of a specialist. Rest assured, we have a network of professional specialty companies to assist you.

Walk Thru Evaluation

A walk-thru evaluation is a great place to start. We begin by discussing with you any concerns and goals that you may have. Then we examine your previous energy usage by reviewing your utility bills over a twelve-month period. This allows us to tailor a baseline of usage to establish cost-saving projections. The walk-thru evaluation addresses major areas like indoor air quality, heating and air, lighting efficiency, major electronics, water efficiency and more. The evaluation will focus on locating inefficient areas as well as health and safety items in need of attention.

Comprehensive Evaluation

A comprehensive evaluation includes all of the aspects of the walk-thru as well as utilizes building science and calibrated testing equipment. Once this data is generated, we run energy simulations and analyze all findings. The findings will provide the life cycle costs of possible improvements and ROI (return on investment) projections. The use of specialized testing equipment provides data that is undetectable to the naked eye. The comprehensive evaluation includes:

Project Management

Once we have presented our report, you will find many efficiency strategies but may lack the manpower or the expertise to implement them. No worries, we can help you here as well. We have developed multiple strategic alliances to help our clients implement improvements. And as state-certified third-party verifiers, we do not receive any incentives from contractors. We will manage the project with only your best interest in mind. Furthermore, after implementation we will verify all contractors’ work and even present you with an award for your efficiency improvements. The project management phase includes:

  • Action Plan Consultation
  • Proposal and Bidding Process
  • Budget Management
  • Rebate and Incentive Opportunities
  • Timeline Supervision
  • “Green” Certification Options
  • Implemented Improvement Test-out
  • Final Review of Goals and Targets Achieved
