The Environmental Leader is reporting good things with Phillips Electronics. In 2009, the company was able to increase their energy efficiency by 6% and reduce their carbon footprint by 7%. They have already made a huge investment in green innovation in 2010, with plans for more green allocation of funds for the next 4 years. The result – a 38% increase in green product sales.

Phillips isn’t just working on reducing energy consumption. They are also focusing on making more eco friendly products. They are phasing out the use of certain chemicals, such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and brominated flame retardants (BFR). And they have set goals to close the material loops by increase recycling and the use of recycled materials. With these agendas, Phillips’ products will continue to become even more sustainable.
