winds-of-changeEvery human being in this world is interconnected. Every action that a person makes affects another. You may feel that you are merely a speck of dust in the sea of humanity yet everything you do creates an environmental impact that can change the lives of people around you.

Eco Friendly Living

Adhering to certain rules and conditions set not by laws, but by Mother Nature is a great way to live an eco friendly lifestyle. Start by reducing your consumption at home. If you try to reuse everything, you are also likely to save a bunch of money. Opt for used products instead of buying new ones. You can reuse plastic and paper bags which will reduce environmental waste. If you want to use less paper, print on both sides of paper. These simple suggestions will help reduce the production of new goods. You can do these simple things at home and at the office. You may be surprised that your co-workers may soon catch on to your eco friendly ways.

 Buying Organic Foods

While some people may be content with getting their food from manufacturers that use tons of chemicals just to produce a plentiful yield, now is the time to search for  products that are grown naturally and without any infusion of chemicals. Buying organic foods is one way to ensure your family’s health. Aside from that, this shows giant manufacturers your opposition to the use of chemicals that create adverse effects on health and the environment. In fact, First Lady Michelle Obama has reintroduced the first organic kitchen garden in the White House in decades. The Organic Consumers Association supports this move and recommends implementing it in every home. Going organic can help feed millions of people since 75% of food in the world is produced not by industrial mega-farms but by 1.5 billion small farmers who utilize ecological food provision.

Pollution

One of the greatest threats to the environment today is global pollution. Smoke being emitted from car exhausts and factories as well as cleaners and pesticides used at home all contribute to environmental degradation and the deterioration of people’s health. We all have the choice to drive less, minimize the use of air conditioning systems, use compact fluorescent bulbs, and try to reuse and recycle. These steps will help to reduce greenhouse gases, the primary cause of global warming. Going green will help in minimizing the pollution that is plaguing the environment today. The world can still achieve sustainability if everyone will start doing something now.
